Last night our Snowmaking Crew monitored wet bulb temp closely. Humidity stayed above 90% & temps didn’t drop enough in combo for wet bulb below 29F - with 60% relative humidity or below  being needed range for quality snowmaking to begin. We want snowmakers not sprinklers. Patience is a virtue. Our Crew will be ready again tonight and into Wednesday morning! Similar weather is forecasted, so we’ll keep our fingers crossed! We’re excited to get things going around here!! Snow Trails typical Winter season begins around the second week of December through mid-March. We'll look forward to great times ahead with you for our 60th Winter Season of 2020-'21! Grab your Season Pass and be ready for fresh air and fun on the Slopes!

Additional Snowmaking Needed For Tubing

Additional Snowmaking Needed For Tubing
December 11, 2019

We will need additional days of snowmaking to open Vertical Descent Tubing Park and offer Glow Tubing. We are now tentatively targeting Opening Day for Saturday, Dec. 21st 9AM- 12AM. We are hoping to confirm this by Wednesday the 18th, to then make Tubing Tickets available for purchase online. Glow Tubing is the same Ticket, only you must purchase your Ticket for a time slot beginning at 6PM to catch the best Glow.

The cold snap in early November was followed by a warm-up, so we are incredibly happy to get back to snowmaking in the Tubing Park. It will take additional days to lay down a deep enough snow base to then build the lanes of snow on-top, without compromising the max number of lanes we want to construct. This is what has pushed our targeted Opening Day back for now.

When we open the Tubing Park we will offer Snow Tubing Thursday through Sunday each week and Glow Tubing will be available beginning at 6PM each day the Park is open. Check-out the Calendar view of Tubing Hours & Rates.

Please stay tuned as plans and weather forecasts develop further. Sign-up for our eNewsletter and Follow Us @SnowTrails.
