Cooler nighttime temps have already set-in, kids are back to school, and Fall activities are in full-swing. This is when the anticipation begins to build for us all! We are looking forward to the coming Winter Season with you! Weather forecasters are starting to kick around the idea of a colder and drier Winter - we’ll take it - considering we will provide the moisture needed for snowmaking. Just as long as we have cooler temps we are good to go! Generally snowmaking begins anytime around Thanksgiving if temps drop around 29F for extended hours. Please stay with us this Pre-Season and keep an eye on our Calendar to join us for Events leading-up to our 65th Season of 2025-’26.

Are you a Mogul Fan?

December 15, 2010

If so, you will be pleased to hear a group of Snow Trails Snow Sports Instructors just came in from setting the bamboo poles used to assist the formation of our Mogul Area, aka "Bumps." On your next ride up the Mt. Mansfield Triple Chairlift, look off to your left...no it's not Snow Plinko, it's a well organized, equally offset and spaced set of bamboo poles. Moguls are formed by first choosing a path between the poles, then sliding each of your turns just before each pole. After enough skiers work their way down through, piles of snow will start to form around each! Before you know it, the Moguls will be large enough for the poles to be removed, then the fun really begins!
