Cooler nighttime temps have already set-in, kids are back to school, and Fall activities are in full-swing. This is when the anticipation begins to build for us all! We are looking forward to the coming Winter Season with you! Weather forecasters are starting to kick around the idea of a colder and drier Winter - we’ll take it - considering we will provide the moisture needed for snowmaking. Just as long as we have cooler temps we are good to go! Generally snowmaking begins anytime around Thanksgiving if temps drop around 29F for extended hours. Please stay with us this Pre-Season and keep an eye on our Calendar to join us for Events leading-up to our 65th Season of 2025-’26.

Full-Power Snowmaking, Begins Thursday Night!

November 30, 2009

One of the most exciting times of the season is upon us!!!! We're powering the snow guns to "ON" this Thursday night to produce the SNOW needed for our season Kick-Off!!!! We'll keep producing as much snow as possible, while temperatures allow, striving to cover the slopes for Opening Day! Stay tuned for the official announcement as we look to next week for continued snowmaking! Just to note, by using 198,000 gallons of water per hour delivered through 2+ miles of 4" to 16" welded steel underground pipe, we're capable of covering almost three average slopes (6 acres) with 2" of man-made snow base in 24 hours at full capacity with an average temperature of 25 degrees and less than 65% relative humidity. Pretty amazing, huh?
