Projects Update, Off-Season Activity

September 27, 2013

Days after closing for the season, seem to move ever so slowly...fast forward to late Summer with many projects and improvements underway, and the season seemingly just around the corner. And so, the anticipation grows, especially when we are excited to announce the benefits to you.

Behind the scenes, there is always a heavy piece of machinery making tracks on its way to the next project, and a chairlift spinning for safety checks and routine maintenance. One major project being our Outer Parking Lot Project ...que the Dozer, Grader, and Heavy Roller...loads and loads of aggregate, asphalt millings, and hundreds of machine passes later, you'll find on those mild winter days a solid surface to park on in our Outer Lot. We hope it will further enhance your Snow Trails Resort Experience, even if it means a large capital investment off the slopes.

Two exciting Trail Expansion Projects are near completion. Our Rustler Trail has been expanded by about a third of the previous width. This will really open the trail up, to give you room to carve this favorite slope of many. Over on our West Woods Trail, you will find the dog leg has been straightened a bit to allow for better feature placement and flow in The Woods Terrain Park.

We are shuffling some Snow Guns around to make for better snow coverage in areas we found could be enhanced, based on the Snow Trails "Quality Snow Standard," plus we are adding three(3) New Tower Mounted Snow Guns to our massive snowmaking system.

Take a look through Project Photos in our Snow Trails Photo Gallery and look for more detail and photos to come, as additional projects get underway and come to completion.
