HOW IT WORKS...

Children check-in at the Children’s Learning Center between 9:30AM and 10:00AM
The day begins at 9:30AM with equipment fitting and indoor learning in the NEW Children's Learning Center. The rest of the morning is on the slopes from the easy snow ramp to the carpet lift and chairlift depending on their progress. After lunch, the afternoon session on the snow continues. Breaks are as needed by ages, abilities and the weather. Each child is evaluated as to their level of skill and progress cards are prepared and sent home along with other mementos from their day of fun at Snow Trails.
POLAR BEAR PROGRAM $89
Ages 5 to 9 from 9:30am- 3:30pm
This daily program is designed for children ages 5 through 9. Our programs combine the fun of discovery, the challenge of trying new things, and the excitement of mastering new skills, all in a safe environment. Let your children experience the fun of skiing or snowboarding this winter. Children are led by our dynamic instructors in both outdoor and indoor activities.

POLAR CUB PROGRAM $69
9:30am- 1:30pm
This daily program is designed for children ages three and four, large enough to fit children's boot size seven, potty trained, and mature enough to follow instructions. Polar Cub is similar in structure to the Polar Bear program, simply shortened.
Your child begins their day with introduction and fitting to their equipment. After this is complete, their morning session begins. During this time their abilities are assessed and catered to. After lunch, the afternoon session continues to improve on their skills and movements introduced in the morning session. Progress cards are kept and available by request and are sent home along with other memories of their fun at Snow Trails.

AFTERWARDS
With all Children's Programs, the program ends at each designated time, but the day does not have to end for you and your youngster. The area ticket is valid for the entire day and may continue to be used, along with the rental equipment, until the resort closing time of 9:30pm.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS
So, what can you expect out of the children's program?
Everyone learns at different paces. It is important to keep your expectations reasonable, this way both you and your child will have a successful and rewarding experience on the snow. Factors that can affect learning to ski or snowboard include: the child's age, physical ability, and willingness to learn.
Both skiing and snowboarding take specialized movements that improve with practice over time. Ultimately, your expectation for your child should focus on the fun and excitement of the overall experience. Although some children may be able to ski in a wedge on intermediate or advanced terrain, we recommend that all children be placed according to their skill level, rather than slopes they ski or ride. Don't hesitate to ask for assistance. We're here to help and provide you and your child with the best experience possible.
Ability Levels: Use this guide to place yourself or your child in the appropriate class. Each mountain uses its own system, so please assess your ability carefully. Don't hesitate to ask for assistance. We're here to make your experience enjoyable!
- First timer: I'm looking to learn to ride the moving carpet and to stop and turn better on the easiest beginner terrain. I've never skied or boarded before and would like to experience the joy of skiing or snowboarding.
- Novice: I'd like to learn to ride the lift, stop and turn better on beginner terrain.
- Early Intermediate: I can make controlled turns on the easiest slopes. I ride the chairlift and am ready for more challenges.
- Intermediate: I control my speed by turning with a skidded finish and ski or ride intermediate terrain comfortably.
- Advanced Intermediate: I feel comfortable on all intermediate terrain most of the time. I want to improve my rhythm and control.
- Advanced: I'm a strong carver on all intermediate terrain and want to develop confidence on the black diamonds.
- Expert: I'm looking to master all the mountain has to offer!
